Late Autumn and early winter sunshine can still warm the garden, so it's worthwhile creating an attractive corner for warming winter moments. It's an easy process, too, with help from International paints. It just takes a lick of paint, a little time and some simple garden props.
Later in the year, gardens can get low on colour and light. However, clever use of paint can subtly bring in those bright moments even in winter. Here a plain garden gate and battered old bench are given new life with a colourful coat of 10 Year Exterior Gloss. This paint is high gloss, so reflects all available light. Its microporous formula allows wood to breathe - protecting the surface below and stopping the paint from blistering. For an extra safety tip, and to reflect light back into the garden, try painting the decking or paving with NEW Anti-Slip Floor Paint in Polar White.
The good news is that all this paint is not just a pretty indulgence, it is practical too. Here, Drainpipe & Gutter Paint was used to smarten up and protect a drainpipe. It works on weathered PVC, or previously painted metal and contains a fungicide that fights off the greening effect of unwanted mould.
International paints can create colour on pots and planters as well. Here, a clean bright look is achieved by painting pots, planters and furniture in white with blue highlights. 10 Year Exterior Gloss can be used on metal and wood, or for more jewel-like colours try Japlac. Galvanised metal surfaces should be primed with Special Metals Primer.
