Grim to glorious garage

If you've got a garage, you've got an asset. Although sometimes, it's difficult to see how, when the paint is peeling off the doors and you can't even fit the car in, for all the other clobber that is there.

While the summer weather is still with us, why not transform your garage from grim dumping ground to glorious extra space. It will then add glamour to the outside of your house and give you extra space alternatives on the inside.

Start with a good clear out. Make it your aim to be able to find the floor from corner to corner. Once you've revealed the floor, it may look dusty, stained and marked by year's worth of the little spillages and stains. The answer is a quick paint job.

If you want to keep the garage for mainly vehicular purposes, try Quick Drying Garage Floor Paint. This is a glossy, heavy-duty paint that is very tough and durable. It'll make the garage look smart as well since it is easy to clean and will keep the dust levels down.

Alternatively, if the garage is doubling up as a utility room or spare storage area, try new Anti-Slip Floor Paint. This looks great and has the added benefit that it provides good grip. This can be sensible in a garage where people may be filling buckets or watering cans, emptying washing machines or similar.

Once the inside of the garage is looking good, it's a synch to sort the outside too. Simply apply a coat of 10 year Garage Door Enamel to give an 'as new' look to the door. It's easy to apply and will give you a decade to relax in before having to think about painting it again.
