Spring gardens

Be pretty, practical and just a little bit potty this month by planting up a miniature potted herb garden. Herbs can look lovely inside or out, just so long as they look good, smell marvellous and taste great.

These pots are simple terracotta, which have been primed with Wipe On Multi Surface Primer and then painted with Blackboard Paint. For a finishing flourish, just print out the name of the herb on the pot. Simple, stylish and useful too.

Take a different slant on a well-drained pot with a simple kitchen colander. Here we've primed a bog standard stainless steel number straight from the sink, primed it with Special Metals Primer then over painted it with Japlac in Arctic White. A matching classic white geranium has been potted up and voila! A lovely fresh look that will set of your kitchen sink as well as it does the kitchen garden.

The first rays of Spring sunshine summon us irresistibly to sit in the garden. It can be a little disappointing to find how dusty and dirty your garden furniture has got during the winter. Don't let it get you down, though, when it's simple to create a fresh new look with 10 Year Exterior Gloss. The paint can be used on wood, metal and weathered plastic and is available in a chose of ten colours to suit any colour scheme.

Show off the lush green growth of spring with colour co-ordinated pots. Here we've over painted terracotta with clean strong blues, whites and greens. Even the watering can's has had it's own makeover as Japlac can be used on galvanised metal when primed with Special Metals Primer.
