High Performance Exterior Wood Primer
- Before opening, please cover lid with a cloth as gases may develop in storage.
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and other contaminants.
Bare wood: Sand smooth and wipe clean.
Previously painted surfaces: Remove any flaking or blistered paint. Sand down and wipe clean.
Uneven or damaged surfaces: Make good with a proprietary filler. Leave putty to dry for at least 2 weeks before overcoating, then treat as bare wood.
Rotten wood: Cut out rotten wood and replace with sound timber. Treat with a wood preserver and allow to dry. Then treat as bare wood.
Grey weathered wood: Thoroughly sand back to sound timber, then treat as bare wood.
- Stir well with a broad stirring stick to the bottom of the can.
For normal use apply 1 coat with a brush suitable for solvent based paints. Work well into the joints and end grain.
For maximum protection apply 2 coats, paying particular attention to joints and end grain.
- Remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning. For best results use Polycell Brush Cleaner.

Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
