Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and other contaminants.
Bare wood: Sand the surface. If necessary, seal knots with International Knotting Solution.
Previously painted surfaces: Remove any flaking or blistered paint. Sand down and wipe clean.
Uneven or damaged surfaces: Make good with a proprietary filler. Leave putty to dry for at least 2 weeks before overcoating.
Rotten wood: Cut out rotten wood, replace with sound timber, and then treat as bare wood.
Grey weathered wood: Thoroughly sand back to sound timber, then treat as bare wood.
How to use
Stir well with a broad stirring stick to the bottom of the can.
Apply 2 coats using a synthetic brush. Apply liberally and brush well into the surface and end grain. Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly, then sand down lightly with fine grade sandpaper and wipe clean with a dry cloth before applying the second coat.
Cleaning
Remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with water.
